Dan Stone MCIP, RPP, LEED-GA,
Dan is a registered professional planner bringing more than 25 years of experience in the Municipal sector having worked with both Official Plan policy as well as development review / land use approvals. Dan's professional background also includes experience with the Niagara Escarpment Commission, the Waterfront Toronto Revitalization Corporation and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from Trent University as well as a Master Certificate in Municipal Management from York University's Schulich School of Business.Dan participates as a contributor to QUEST (Quality Urban Energy Systems for Tomorrow) policy and municipal working group and is a member of the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI), the Ontario Professional Planning Institute (OPPI), Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), and an accredited Green Associate (LEED-GA).
Dan spent the majority of his municipal planning experience with the Town of East Gwillimbury and the Township of King. During his time, Dan worked on various municipal projects including the Official Plan review process for East Gwillimbury in 2010, serving on advisory committees and chambers of commerce.
Bonnie is excited to begin her career in planning by gaining valuable experience working at Thorstone Consulting after graduating from the University of Waterloo. Having worked two previous co-op terms with Thorstone, she is currently a Junior Planner. Bonnie's main responsibilities include policy research, preparation of applications and drafting Planning Justification Reports. She is currently working towards the LEED certification to provide sustainable green solutions for the development market.
Associate Office Manager
Josh met Dan while attending the University of Waterloo's Urban Planning program. He has worked with Dan in a number of capacities for over a year and a half, and is currently the Office Manager for Thorstone.
Josh's main roles are communication with clients and billing and invoicing, and assisting Dan as required. He works closely with Dan to ensure the company runs smoothly and is also the in house tech-support.
GIS and CAD Designer
The GIS and CAD Designer would be responsible for all of the high quality mapping and drawings Thorstone Consulting produces. Examples include Air Photography, Site Plans, Context mapping and Policy mapping.
